Golf Australia Enters BMW Partnership

European car manufacturer, BMW, has signed a deal with Australian Golf (Golf Australia and PGA Australia) and WPGA.

The deal sees BMW become a joint major partner of Australia golf, the first time the three major bodies have entered a single partnership.

Under the agreement, BMW will be the official car partner of several golf tournaments across Australia, including the Australian Open and WPGA Championship, and both the PGA and WPGA tours of Australasia.

Commenting on the partnership, PGA of Australia CEO, Gavin Kirkman, commented: “By working together under the banner of Australian Golf we are able to harness the enormous potential of our sport and align with a partner such as BMW Australia across our tour and organisations.”

“Together, with the support of our partners like BMW Australia, we’re building an exciting and sustainable future for our game for everyone, from those who play to those of us who work in the industry whether they be volunteers, PGA professionals, club managers or staff,” he said.

Commenting on the addition of Australia to their golf portfolio, BMW Australia CEO, Wolfgang Buechel, said: “I am delighted that with this new partnership we can add Australia as a headline act in our global golf partnership portfolio alongside our activities in Europe, the USA and Asia.”

The deal expands on BMW’s sponsorship of the Western Golf Association in America and the British PGA Championship.
