North Melbourne has announced the appointment of Erin Lorenzini as their new General Manager of Women’s Football, succeeding Nathan Hrovat. Lorenzini, formerly a defender at Greater Western Sydney and a seasoned sports administrator, brings a wealth of experience to her new role.
Having wrapped up a successful sporting career with stints at Greater Western Sydney Giants and a decade in the Women’s National Basketball League spanning three states, Lorenzini transitioned to football to continue her impactful journey within the sports industry. In addition to her sporting prowess, she has held key positions at Cricket New South Wales and the Australian Cricketers’ Association.
With her recent involvement in governmental relations, infrastructure development, strategic planning, and operations with Cricket NSW, Lorenzini adds a strategic edge to North Melbourne’s women’s football program. She currently serves as the deputy chair of Sport NSW, highlighting her commitment to driving excellence in sporting organisations.
North Melbourne CEO Jen Watt expressed enthusiasm about Lorenzini joining the club, emphasising her dedication to high performance and success. Watt noted that Lorenzini’s extensive professional background as an athlete, administrator, and health professional positions her as a valuable asset to the club’s women’s football program.
The move underlines North Melbourne’s commitment to fostering sustained success within its women’s football program, building on the momentum from the team’s inaugural NAB AFLW Grand Final appearance last season.
