Rocket League developer, Psyonix, has announced details of the upcoming Collegiate Rocket League (CRL) season, where car manufacturer, Nissan will continue to sponsor the competition.
Nissan will serve as the title sponsor for the ‘Fall Split’, with the expanded competition now including Mexican universities, who will compete as part of the 16 teams in the Western Conference.
The top eight teams from the East and West conferences will advance to the CRL Playoffs, where teams will compete for a spot at the CRL World Championships.
Additionally, Psyonix has announced that they’re working with the European University Rocketeers Championship, as they aim to run a portion of the competition.
The CRL Fall Split will begin on 25 September, with a date for the CRL World Championship yet to be confirmed.
The news comes after esports organisation, GameSquare, announced several new hires.
