Ministry of Sport is pleased to announce Beovista as new naming rights sponsor for the Annual Conference speakers dinner, including the value of sport content stream.

Beovista is an energy efficiency company that has designed and manufactured the Beolec VOS – the first of its type in the world that achieves savings of up to 15% on electrical consumption across the entire site.

A proud Australian owned company, Beovista was established in 2010 and today has a manufacturing facility in China, an office in The United States, both of which are supported by the Sydney Head Office and the Brisbane Research and Development facility.

We spoke with the director of customer development and marketing at Beovista, Robert Corbett, about the company’s new partnership with Ministry of Sport.

1. How does Beovista add value to the business of sport?

To date Beovista has over 200 installations saving our customers over $2.2M in electricity costs and taken emissions out equivalent to over 2,500 cars. On top of this, we are able to achieve up to 17% savings on repair and maintenance costs.

The attendees at MOS annual conference have facilities which use significant quantities of electricity and we believe that we can provide these attendees with a cost-effective way of reducing electricity costs while keeping their business running and helping them achieve their sustainability targets.

2. What are you most looking forward to at the MOS Annual Conference?

I think the topics that Ben has picked out to focus on at this year’s conference directly aligns with benefits that Beovista can provide potential customers. In particular the topics of Technology and value.  Beovista is currently helping its customers by deploying its technology to enhance the value of our customers offering. We see the MOS annual conference as a great opportunity to share our technology and talk about how we can assist a broader customer base who use a lot of electricity.

3. What’s your favourite sporting team and why?

My favourite sporting team has to be the All Blacks. Even though I am a proud Aussie and I support the Wallabies.

The success that the All Blacks have been able to achieve even though they have a limited population size is nothing short of amazing. Other factors that make this team so impressive are

  • Their results over a long period
  • The value placed on the team rather than any one individual
  • The brand recognition from people outside its traditional supporter base

4. What’s your favourite sporting moment?

My favourite sporting moment was the Bledisloe Cup match in 1994 where George Gregan tackled Jeff Wilson in the corner to ensure the Wallabies won the one-off test match 20-16. The moment has gone on to be remembered as  “That Tackle” and set Gregan up as the worlds best No. 9 for many years to come.
