AOC Announce Grassroots Website Building Initiative

The Australian Olympic Committee and official website building partner, GoDaddy, have teamed up to help grassroots sports clubs across Australia expand their reach.

GoDaddy are offering their expertise to 50 clubs to build and design a club website which can then be easily altered using GoDaddy’s website builder platform.

Praising the campaign, AOC CEO, Matt Carroll, commented: “Olympic dreams are sparked and fostered at community clubs around the country.”

“A free built professional website can help to give the volunteers, families and participants a boost for grassroots clubs to better connect with their members and community and maybe unearth an Olympian or two for Brisbane 2032.

“I am sure many clubs from the Olympic sporting family will make the most of this tremendous opportunity,” he concluded.

GoDaddy vice president, Tamara Oppen, added: “As the official Website Building Partner of the Australian Olympic Team, we couldn’t be more thrilled to join with the Australian Olympic Committee to support sports clubs at a grassroots level.”

“We wouldn’t have Aussie Olympians without the support and dedication of community sports clubs, so it’s our privilege to help more clubs get online to build their brand, reach new and existing supporters, help raise funds and save time on admin with a professional online presence,” she said.

Recent moves to support grassroots sport in Australia include Surfing Australia’s partnership with Harvey Norman.
