Tangerine Recommits to Bendigo Spirit for 2026/27 WNBL Season

Telecommunications provider Tangerine has renewed its partnership with the Bendigo Spirit for the 2026/27 Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) season.

Entering the second consecutive year of the commercial agreement, Tangerine’s continued investment underscores a shared strategic focus on growing women’s sport, fostering grassroots participation, and enhancing digital connectivity for regional Victorian communities.

The alliance aims to leverage the Spirit’s elite platform to inspire regional youth and deepen fan engagement across digital and matchday channels.

Commenting on the partnership, Tangerine chief growth officer, Rick van Emmerik, said: “Bendigo Spirit represents so much of what makes sport special.”

“It brings people together, gives the community something to get behind and gives young players incredible role models to look up to.

“We loved supporting the Spirit last season, and we’re proud to be back for another year.

“At Tangerine, our job is to keep people connected to the things that matter to them simply,” van Emmerik said.

Bendigo Spirit GM, Dan Jackson, emphasised that long-term commercial stability directly supports the club’s broader regional and operational growth objectives.

“Strong, long-term partnerships play an important role in helping our club grow and continue creating opportunities for women and girls in basketball.”

“Tangerine’s support shows a genuine commitment to the Spirit, our fans and the wider Bendigo community, and we’re proud to have them alongside us again for the 2026/27 season,” Jackson said.

WNBL Life Member and five-time WNBL champion, Kelsey Griffin, reiterated the corporate value backing up directly to their player rosters.

“Support like this means a lot to us as players.”

“It helps us compete at our best, connect with our supporters and show young girls across Bendigo and beyond where basketball can take them.

“We’re excited to have Tangerine back with us and can’t wait to share another season with the community,” Griffin said.

The partnership extension aligns with the tip-off of the 2026/27 WNBL campaign, providing Tangerine with sustained commercial exposure across regional broadcast and venue assets.
