The MoneyGram Haas F1 Team has been actively engaging with students in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since 2023, which aims to inspire the younger generation to explore career opportunities in fields they may not have previously considered.
The team once again collaborated with the Saudi Motorsport Company (SMC) to welcome the new U.S. Consul General in Jeddah, Rafik Mansour, alongside a group of high-achieving Saudi ‘STEM RACING’ students.
The event, held in the bustling atmosphere of the F1 paddock, featured a variety of activities designed to provide valuable insights into the world of motorsport.
Since Formula 1’s arrival in the Kingdom, there has been notable progress in promoting education in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) subjects.
With 75% of the Saudi population under 35, the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team takes pride in contributing to the future of STEM education by sharing expert knowledge and guidance on how to secure careers in STEM-centric industries.
During the event, students had the opportunity to meet drivers Esteban Ocon and Ollie Bearman, posing inquisitive questions about the significance of STEM in their careers and the synergy with their engineering teams.
Following an exclusive walk through the paddock and pit lane, where students observed the preparation efforts of all ten teams ahead of the Sunday race, they had a rewarding discussion with Paul Sutton, Aerodynamics Team Leader.
Sutton recounted his journey into the sport, elucidating the subjects he studied in higher education and how those academic foundations translate to real-world applications in motorsport.
The MoneyGram Haas F1 Team expressed gratitude towards the U.S. Consulate in Jeddah, Consul General Rafik Mansour, and the Saudi Motorsport Company for their ongoing support and collaboration during the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
The team continues its mission to inspire and empower the next generation, such partnerships will be crucial for fostering interest in STEM careers within the realm of motorsport.
