The Golden State Warriors have unveiled a new state of the art facility that will house their e-sports teams and includes business offices, a training facility and creative studios.
The new home for the Golden Guardians (GG) will be built on 10,742 square-foot land located in Playa Vista, west side of Los Angeles and is set to open in the Fall of 2022.
Golden State Warriors head of esports, Hunter Leigh, spoke about the long term desire to dominate the esports genre and that the training facility will give the club’s esports teams an edge.
“Our new esports facility will have a significant positive impact {on] the development of our competitors,” Leigh said.
“The investment in a state of the art headquarters in Los Angeles speaks to the Warriors’ long-term dedication to growing esports and supporting our players [in] every way possible.
“I cannot wait for construction to be complete and to offer these amenities to our team,” he said.
The Bay Area-based organization currently sponsors professionals competing in League of Legends, Super Smash Bros. Melee and World of Warcraft and was founded in 2017.
Additionally, the training facility will also see Golden Guardians’ other esports teams gain access to the training facility.
