2025 AFL Fans Association Survey

The AFL Fans Association (AFLFA) has officially commenced its 2025 National Fan Survey, providing a platform for fans across Australia to express their opinions on important issues impacting the game.

This initiative aims to collect crucial feedback from the very heart of the AFL community – the passionate fans who contribute to the sport’s rich tapestry.

Covering a broad range of topics such as ticket pricing, television access, interpretations of the rules, and the overall match day experience, the survey seeks to ensure that fan voices resonate directly with AFL decision-makers.

Emphasising the importance of supporters view, president of AFLA, Ron Issko, shared: “It’s time to hear from the fans.”

“Supporters have strong opinions on everything from umpiring to seating, and this is a constructive way for those views to be heard. Your feedback is already making a difference – and the more fans who take part in the survey, the stronger our message becomes.

“We’re proud to be an independent voice for all fans – not just the loudest or closest to the action

“We’re driven by the belief that together, we can make things better.

This survey is about real solutions, fresh ideas, and positive change – not just pointing out what’s wrong. Your voice matters, and we invite everyone to get involved and help shape a truly incredible experience for all fans,” Issko said.

The AFLFA consistently engages with the AFL to advocate for the interests of fans, and the insights gleaned from this survey will be crucial in those ongoing discussions and in shaping the game’s future.

Regardless of geographical location or mode of support, every voice holds significance, and this survey aims to amplify those voices to the highest levels of the AFL hierarchy.

Key areas that fans can provide their insights on include:

  • The transition away from free-to-air coverage for Saturday AFL matches
  • Fairness, accessibility, and affordability of ticketing
  • Consistency in umpiring and interpretation of rules
  • Fostering inclusivity and enhancing the match day atmosphere
  • Fixture scheduling and its effects on families and regional supporters

Moreover, fans who participate in the survey by 30 July 2025 will automatically enter a draw for a chance to win a $500 prize.

The accumulated survey results will be disclosed later this season and presented directly to the AFL.
