World Surf League Australia Partners With Aussie Brewery

World surf league (WSL) Australia fans can expect to see a lot more of the Australian beer Coopers, at WSL Australia events after it was announced that the two organisations have signed a three-year partnership.

Commencing this year, Coopers will become the official beer partner of the WSL Australia and will be the category partner at four marquee Australian WSL events on both the Challenger series and Championship tour.

During year one of the partnership, Coopers will have brand presence in both the VIP and public areas at WSL Australia’s marquee events while also gaining digital presence.

Fans can expect to see Coopers at the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach and the Margaret River Pro Championship tour events, and the Boost Mobile Gold Coast Pro and the Sydney Surf Pro Challenger series events.

While the partnership will include all Coopers products, there is expected to be an emphasis on the company’s Pacific Pale Ale due to the beer’s affiliation with the coast and with customers who seek a summer-style beer.

WSL Asia Pacific general manager, Andrew Stark, said the partnership stems from an alignment of values between Coopers and WSL Australia.

“Coopers has an authentic passion for where they’ve been and where they’re going, which aligns fantastically with the ethos of the World Surf League,” Stark said.

Coopers national marketing manager, Kate Dowd, said that Coopers is excited to support the WSL over the next three years due to the similarity of the organisation’s values.

“As a proud independent brewery, we have a strong, appreciation for the Aussie Coast and lifestyle. Pacific Pale Ale’s refreshing, tropical flavour has resonated with the surfing community, and we look forward to building this connection through the World Surf League,” Dowd said.

Coopers will join a plethora of beer sponsors for the WSL as the organisation broadens its reach into different and new partnerships.

WSL is currently holding its CARVE Great Lakes Pro, qualifying series on Boomerang beach with round of 96 on today.
