British Formula 1 team and constructor, Williams Racing, has announced the appointment of a new chief revenue officer in UFC’s Paul Asencio, who will oversee the team’s commercial and marketing operations.
Asencio, who was previously the senior VP of global partnerships at the mixed martial arts giant for over five years, brings a wealth of experience in corporate partnerships, accountancy, and venue business development from his prior roles with Fanatics and the New York Mets in Major League Baseball.
Commenting on his appointment, Asencio shared his excitement in moving into a rapidly growing sport: “Formula 1 is on a massive growth trajectory and I’m happy to be a part of it.”
Williams Racing chairman of the board, Matthew Savage said he was pleased to welcome Asencio to the team, adding: “As we continue the transformation of Williams Racing, we are delighted to welcome Paul to reinforce our marketing and commercial team.”
“He has a fantastic track record in global sports including UF and MLB and we look forward to having him contribute to our journey,” he said.
Asencio will officially embark on his new role on April 10 and will be based in the team’s New York Office.
This announcement comes after Williams Racing partnered with Acronis to ensure the protection of data ahead of the Australian Grand Prix.
