Western United Secures Deal With Victoria University Polytechnic

Hyundai A-League team, Western United, has announced Victoria University Polytechnic as the clubs new premier partner.

United CEO, Chris Pehlivanis, said the partnership was a winner for the football club and VU Polytechnic as well as the broader western Melbourne community.

“We are absolutely delighted to partner with Victoria University Polytechnic,” Pehlivanis said.

“Both organisations aspire to shape a brighter future for our region and its people, and together this partnership reflects our shared goals for the community in Melbourne’s West and the greater western region of Victoria.”

United will proudly wear the Victorian University Polytechnic logo on their shorts this season.

Grant Dreher, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Victoria University Polytechnic, described the partnership with Western United as “a perfect partnership match.”

“We are proud to be involved from the beginning of Western United’s remarkable story,” Dreher said.

“We’re confident our partnership will continue to evolve and provide benefits and opportunities for our staff, students, and the wider VU community for many years to come.”

Western United continues to engage and inspire the local community with the club’s plans both on and off the pitch, which includes a boutique stadium and precinct to be built in Tarneit.

Victoria University Polytechnic offers a range of TAFE sport programs for sport-focused students, including diplomas and certificates in sport and recreation, sport development, fitness, and remedial massage.

Western United will play its first home game against reigning Premiers, Perth Glory, at GMHBA Stadium in Geelong on October 19.
