UEFA, CONMEBOL Sign Coaching Agreements

Governing bodies, UEFA and CONMEBOL have announced the signing of operational and technical agreements to expand to partnership between the pair.

The pair have signed an operational agreement on the mutual recognition of coaching qualifications and technical competences, as well as a technical agreement for coach development.

The operational agreement sets out the minimum requirements and the procedure for recognition of issued coaching qualifications by UEFA, with a focus on pro license, A license and goalkeeper A license, to work in accordance with CONMEBOL issued qualifications, and the and UEFA Coaching Conventions.

The technical agreement outlines the principles of cooperation and aims to harmonise the criteria for coaching education and development.

Additionally, the pair have agreed to exchange the best practices and will regularly inform each other on matter relating to coaching education.

Exchanges will be organised between coach educators and coaches, as well as conferences, workshops and webinars.

UEFA and CONMEBOL will also standardise minimum key requirements including admission criteria and the standards, duration and content of all diploma courses delivered under their respective coaching conventions.

The announcement comes after UEFA partnered with Atos across all international competitions.
