Top NRL Commercial Partnerships: Roosters, Storm, More

The past week in the NRL has followed up last week, filled with more commercial partnerships, with clubs looking to fill out their sponsorship positions ahead of the 2022 season.

Penrith Panthers

The Penrith Panthers have announced a two-year partnership with SKINS Australia becoming the club’s official compression garment supplier.

SKINS Australia commercial sales manager, Allan Sassoon, said: “SKINS is delighted to be partnering with the Panthers in their quest for back-to-back titles.”

“For the last 25 years SKINS has been the unrivalled pioneer in the field of sports compression and continues to challenge the conventional boundaries of generic activewear.

“We are excited to be supplying the Panthers with the latest in SKINS compression ranges, supporting and assisting them as they strive for peak performance,” Sassoon said.

Sydney Roosters

The Sydney Rooster have named City Index as a new platinum partner for both the club’s NRL and NRL sides, featuring on the lower back of the club’s NRL jersey and on the sternum of the NRLW side’s jersey.

Roosters chief operational officer, Jarrod Johnstone, said: “Our platinum partners are all industry leaders in their own right and we are delighted to welcome City Index to our portfolio for both the Roosters’ NRL and NRLW programs for the next three years.”

“In forming this partnership with City Index, this completes the opportunity to appear on the Roosters NRL jersey in 2022, with the corporate value of the jersey at its highest in the club’s 114-year history.

“City Index have also identified the rapid growth of the NRLW competition, and as a founding team in the competition, we are excited to welcome them to our program.

“The City Index logo will prominently feature on the sternum of the Sydney Roosters NRLW jersey for the next three years, commencing at the start of the 2022 season,” he said.

New Zealand Warriors

The Vodafone Warriors have announced several new partnerships, with KORE Software’s platform to power the club’s sponsorship management and create a more personalised approach to fan engagement, while headwear brand, New Era, has signed on as the club’s official headwear partner for the next three years, and 2XU has re-signed as the official compression partner of the club.

South Sydney Rabbitohs

The South Sydney Rabbitohs have announced MG Motor has become the club’s major corporate partner for the next five seasons, with the automotive brand’s logo to appear on the front and centre position of the NRL side’s home and away jerseys.

The brand will also receive prominent branding for the club’s training kit, supporter wear, digital assets, in-stadium signage, networking benefits and more.

Wests Tigers

The Wests Tigers have announced KFC Australia as a premier partner for the next two seasons, with the brand to feature across the training apparel of both the men’s and women’s sides, as well as the back of the men’s NRL jerseys and women’s Harvey Norman NSW Women’s Premiership and Tarsha Gale Cup jerseys.

Gold Coast Titans

The Gold Coast Titans have revealed a new major partnership with Surfside Buslines in an effort to boost the club’s community outreach programs.

North Queensland Cowboys

The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys have continued their decade-long partnership with McDonalds after announcing a multi-year partnership extension, with the brand to feature on the back right panel of the club’s playing shorts.

St George Illawarra Dragons

The St George Illawarra Dragons have extended their partnerships with Modus Projects and HWL Ebsworth Lawyers for the 2022 NRL and rescheduled 2021 NRLW season, with Modus Projects to continue to feature as the Dragons’ below-number partner, and HWLE Lawyers to feature on the sternum of the NRL and NRLW playing jerseys.

Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and TripADeal have announced a partnership offering all adult Bulldogs members a free $100 travel voucher, with further special offers and deals for members throughout the year.

Melbourne Storm

Lastly, the Melbourne Storm have extended their major partnership with RedZed for another three years in what has been described as a multi-million-dollar deal and the most significant partnership in the club’s history.

The lender brand will maintain its front of jersey position until at least 2025 with the partnership announcement.

Storm CEO, Justin Rodski, said RedZed has been an exceptional major partner through challenging times since partnering with the club in 2020.

“We are delighted that RedZed is extending their agreement as our major partner,” Rodski said.

“It is clear we share common values, we are aligned on our objectives, and we pride ourselves on creating and capturing value for each other through our partnership together.

“We see RedZed as a leader in their field, delivering value and opportunity to the self-employed, just as the Storm do for our members and fans.

“This is a key part of why our partnership is such a great success.

“The incredible unseen generosity of Redzed has also solidified our partnership, including their contributions to the welfare of our staff during the Melbourne lockdowns, and donating a generous amount of money to our charity partners.

“When they first joined us, they wouldn’t have expected to encounter some the challenges we have faced, highlighted by our team being away from home for the large portion of the past two years.

“However not only have they been great partners during the COVID period, they’ve increased their level of commitment to Storm through to the end of 2025.

“It’s the largest major partnership Storm has signed in the club’s history.

“Our thanks go to everyone associated with RedZed and we look forward to enjoying the mutual benefits this partnership brings,” he said.
