Beenleigh State High School announced a new partnership with the Brisbane Bullets, aimed at enhancing the growth of students on and off the court.
Located in Logan City and serving nearly 2,000 students, Beenleigh State High School is committed to empowering young individuals by harnessing the positive influence of sport.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the collaboration, community & development manager for the Brisbane Bullets, Oliver Reid, noted the potential to create meaningful opportunities for students.
He commented on the importance of this partnership in strengthening the Brisbane basketball community by investing in its youth.
In addition, principal Matt Morgan of Beenleigh State High School highlighted the positive impact of this collaboration, particularly regarding the enhancement of the school’s Basketball Program.
He conveyed the excitement among staff and students about the chance to learn from elite athletes and be immersed in a professional sporting environment.
Brisbane Bullets CEO, Malcolm Watts added to this sentiment, expressing his thrill at integrating another school into the Partner Schools’ Program.
He emphasised the opportunity to share their passion and expertise in a manner that would inspire participation and empower students, thereby cultivating the next generation of basketball talent.
The school places a strong emphasis on personal development and community connection, aligning well with the objectives of the Brisbane Bullets.
As part of the Partner Schools’ Program, the Brisbane Bullets will offer skill development and character-building initiatives that encourage participation, education, and inclusivity.
This partnership aims to promote healthy lifestyles and foster a sense of teamwork among students.
In the benefit for the students, the Bullets’ coaching and development teams will conduct sessions on-site during school training times.
This will provide students with access to high-performance coaching and mentorship opportunities for Beenleigh’s own coaching staff.
