The National Rugby League (NRL) has confirmed global music sensation Teddy Swims will headline entertainment at the 2025 NRL and NRLW Grand Final, presented by Instax, on Sunday, October 5 at Accor Stadium.

The GRAMMY®-nominated, multi-platinum artist will deliver a live performance on rugby league’s biggest stage, launching his sold-out arena tour across Australia and New Zealand immediately after the Grand Final appearance.

Connecting with young Audiences

Swims’ rise has been a blast, with a genre-blending voice that has captivated audiences worldwide, he has amassed more than nine billion streams across his catalogue. His single Lose Control has become a 9x Platinum global hit with nearly four billion streams and recently set the record for the longest run on the Billboard Hot 100, still charting more than 100 weeks after release.

His latest album, I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Complete Edition), brings together his breakout tracks with new music, including Bad Dreams, The Door and Are You Even Real with GIVĒON.

NRL CEO Andrew Abdo said Swims’ global popularity and connection with young audiences will elevate Grand Final day to a new level: “Teddy Swims is one of the most exciting music talents in the world, making him the perfect performer for the NRL Grand Final.”

“His global appeal matches our vision to grow rugby league internationally. Grand Final day is about creating unforgettable moments, and combining world-class athletes with a superstar performer like Teddy ensures an entertainment experience that resonates with fans of all ages,” Abdo said.

A growing Fanbase

For Teddy Swims, the performance marks a return to a country where his fanbase has grown rapidly.

“I am so excited to be performing at the 2025 NRL Grand Final. Australia has always been a second home to me. Every time I am there I’m overwhelmed by how welcoming the people are. To perform at one of the biggest nights in Australia is a huge honour,” Swims said.

The announcement highlights the NRL’s strategy of blending elite sport with global entertainment, positioning the Grand Final as not only the pinnacle of rugby league but also a premier cultural event on Australia’s calendar.
