The Tasmania Football Club (the Devils) has announced the appointment of Jacob Gaynor as its new Head of Content, in preparation for its 2026 entry into the AFL and AFLW competitions.

Gaynor joins the Devils after a successful tenure as Head of Content at the GWS Giants, bringing extensive experience across both AFL and AFLW programs, as well as a strong personal connection to Tasmania.

His appointment underscores the Club’s growing focus on storytelling, digital engagement, and community connection as it prepares to build its identity on and off the field.

Tasmania Football Club, general managerm of marketing, public affairs and social impact, Kath McCann, said Gaynor’s background and ties to the state made him an ideal fit for the new role.

“Jacob will join the Devils with great experience working in AFL and AFLW at both elite and community levels.”

“He brings content skills and a connection to Tasmania that will stand him in great stead to be part of our Devils team,” McCann said.

McCann added that the Club’s content and media strategy will play a critical role in engaging its growing supporter base.

“We now have nearly 215,000 Founding Members who are hungry for Club content.”

“The opportunity to connect with our fans and members through storytelling is a massive opportunity for the Devils, and Jacob’s appointment ensures this remains a key focus for us,” McCann added.

Gaynor said he was thrilled to be joining the Devils as they prepare to represent Tasmania on the national stage.

“The opportunity to help shape the voice of the Tasmania Devils and contribute to something so significant for the state is incredibly exciting.”

“I’m passionate about creating content that reflects Tasmania’s community and honours its proud football history in a way that engages and entertains current and new fans. With the VFL and VFLW programs launching next year, it felt like the perfect time to get involved,” Gaynor said.

Gaynor will officially commence his role in January 2026, leading the Club’s expanding content and media operations as Tasmania continues to build toward its historic AFL debut.
