he Gold Coast SUNS have launched the Metricon Plungie Pool Deck at Metricon Stadium, as part of a partnership between Metricon and Plungie.

The 6m x 3m pool and deck located inside Metricon Stadium was installed by Plungie in less than three days and plans to provide fans with a new experience to watch SUNS games while swimming on the sidelines.

As part of the deal, and in celebration of the SUNS surpassing their membership record in 2020, the SUNS have also announced Plungie will hold a prize draw in June 2021 that will see one SUNS member win their own Plungie, similar to the one installed in Metricon Stadium.

Gold Coast SUNS CEO, Mark Evans, said the partnership between Metricon Homes and Plungie makes perfect sense for the Gold Coast and SUNS fans.

“Where else but the Gold Coast could you enjoy a game of AFL football in a stadium from your own pool deck,” Evans said.

“The Metricon Plungie Pool Deck will make watching the footy even better for some lucky fans and I am sure once people see it, they are going to want one themselves.

“Our SUNS supporters signed up as members in force this year and gifting one of them a top-quality Plungie pool is a great way to say ‘thanks’,” he said.

Plungie general manager, Ben Petersen, said they are excited to activate the new partnerships with the Gold Coast SUNS and Metricon Homes.

“We believe that every Australian deserves a pool, and because so many Australians choose to build with Metricon, that’s now being made possible,” Petersen said.

As part of Plungie’s new partnership with Metricon, people building with Metricon will now have the option to include their very own Plungie, similar to that now installed at Metricon Stadium.

Metricon director, Jason Biasin, said the activation is set to make Metricon Stadium even more atmospheric and will create a fun environment for SUNS fans to enjoy game days.

“More families across Australia choose to build with Metricon than any other builder and, because a home and pool go hand in hand, we will soon be offering Plungie pools as an option when building a Metricon home,” Biasin said.
