Suncorp Stadium Extends Naming Rights For Further 10 Years

Ahead of the NRL grand final this weekend, Stadiums Queensland and ASM Global have announced the 10-year extension of their long-term agreement with Suncorp as the naming rights partner of the Brisbane-based stadium.

Financial services company, Suncorp, has been in agreement with the Lang Park venue since 1994, as one of the most longstanding venues naming rights partnerships in the world.

Suncorp Stadium general manager, Alan Graham, stated: “Both brands are synonymous with quality and the relationship typifies the strong community bond and connection we both share.”

“There’s a whole generation who have never known the Stadium by any other name than Suncorp Stadium.

“Suncorp’s sponsorship has helped ensure the Stadium retains its status as one of the most exciting and entertaining stadiums on the planet,” Graham said.

Suncorp group chief executive, Steve Johnston added: “Suncorp Stadium has been home to sporting battles, epic concerts and it even withstood the 2011 floods.”

“It is part of our Queensland way of life and that’s why we’ve been a proud partner of the stadium for over 25 years.

“At a time when much in our lives has changed, we’ve been so fortunate to have Queensland’s home of sports and entertainment open.

“It has given fans in person and watching at home, much-needed excitement and entertainment.

“Our business has a long and proud heritage in Queensland, and we look forward to being part of the state’s exciting future,” Johnston concluded.

Suncorp Stadium will host the Penrith Panthers and South Sydney Rabbitohs this Sunday, as the first venue outside of Sydney ever to host the NRL grand final.

As part of new restrictions in a response to COVID-19, the 52,500-capacity venue will be filled at a limit of 75%, with masks to be worn at all times even when seated.
