In-flight and ship broadcaster, Sport 24 has announced a partnership extension with the National Hockey League (NHL) to provide coverage through the 2024-25 season.

The deal will see Sport 24, who have been partnered with the NHL since 2016, broadcast 250 live games each season, including the Stanley Cup Playoffs, Stanley Cup Final, NHL Winter Classic and NHL All Star Game.

Commenting on the deal, IMG Media SVP of content and channels, Richard Wise, said: “The NHL is one of the most prestigious global sport organisations.”

“This deal is another example of our commitment to North American sports to better serve our airline and cruise ship partners across this market.

“We’re delighted to bolster our international portfolio and continue to deliver thrilling live action from some of the best ice-hockey teams in the world to fans across the skies and seas,” he said.

NHL SVP of international, Jaka Lednik, added: “NHL fans never want to miss their favourite teams or players.”

“We are pleased to renew our partnership with Sport 24 and continue offering live games to hockey fans to enjoy while flying or on a cruise,” Lednik said.

Sport 24’s coverage will be available across over 840 planes and 170 cruise ships, including Emirates, Etihad Airways, JetBlue, and Singapore Airlines, and P&O, Royal Caribbean, Virgin Voyages, Princess Cruises, and Fred Olsen Cruise Lines.

The announcement comes after Sport 24 renewed its deal with the Premier League in August last year.
