Rugby Australia has announced the release of its Inclusion Strategy for 2025-2029, Australian rugby’s initiative for enabling equal and fair opportunity for everyone in the community to be involved and respected in rugby.
The strategy aims to increase and diversify participation, while cultivating environments where all individuals can thrive, promoting leadership diversity and eliminating barriers to entry.
Commenting on the program, Rugby Australia director, Community Rugby, Michael Procajlo, said: “This strategy and the actions within it reflect our genuine commitment to inclusion in Australian rugby.”
“With 111 initiatives across four key pillars, the strategy sets an ambitious and aspirational path for the game’s future,” Procajlo said.
It identifies five key focus groups as a priority for Australian rugby being women and girls, First Nations, Pasifika, LGBTQ+ and All Abilities.
Formed in collaboration with stakeholders across the game including member unions, Super Rugby clubs and the Rugby Union Players’ Association, the Inclusion Strategy features four key pillars: partnerships, respect, participation and education.
