PWC sign major deal with Melbourne Rebels

The Melbourne Rebels look to define culture and strategy across the club, after singing a ground-breaking new partnership with PwC for the next three years.

A direct outcome of the recent Rebels Strategic Review into welfare and integrity, PwC will support the Rebels with the development of a world-class culture from the player group through to the organisation and into the community.

PwC will support the Rebels with the development of a world-class culture from the player group through to the organisation and into the community.

PwC’s breadth of expertise across many different areas will be available to the Club across the country.

Melbourne Rebels CEO Baden Stephenson said: “It’s an incredible testament to the effort of all involved in the Melbourne Rebels that an organisation like PwC is now a key strategic partner.

“We’ve been through a lot in the last couple of years and this is a real watershed moment for us in acknowledging how far we have come and looking very optimistically into the future.”

“One of the key recommendations from our recent Strategic Review was the importance of strengthening the Club’s approach to identifying and developing our leaders.

“We have a really strong sense of purpose around the Club and we now have an opportunity to go a step further and more clearly define and articulate our organisation’s vision and values.”

“PwC will help us nurture our people to get the best out of them on and off the field.

“They’ll be a great support for us in clarifying our ‘why’, defining our ‘how’ and then it is on our leadership to ensure we take action to turn words into success across the Club,” Stephenson said

PwC Partner, Anthony James echoed Stephenson’s sentiments, saying: “We are excited to be working with the Melbourne Rebels for a number of reasons.

“Firstly, what the new leadership team is doing to develop the organisation is impressive across the diversity of men’s Super Rugby, women’s Super W, the Rebels pathway programs and their work in the community.

“We are also looking forward to working with the Club to take Melbourne to the world through the global sport of Rugby Union.

“The next three years will be an exciting journey for the Club and PwC is looking forward to taking that journey with the organisation.”

The Melbourne Rebels partnership with PwC will see the Club embark on several key projects, including an intensive program with PwC’s “The Difference” commencing in early December.
