Perfect Game Launches Baseball-Themed Fortnite Map

Perfect Game (PG) has executed a digital strategy by launching Perfect Pillars, a custom map within Fortnite using the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN).

This move is a direct response to the challenge of reaching the youth demographic, who increasingly allocate attention to gaming platforms rather than traditional sports media channels.

The commercial rationale for the initiative is clear: meeting the target audience where they are.

Commenting on the launch of the new initiative, Perfect Game CEO, Rob Ponger, observed that the organisation has always been about growing the game and meeting young players where they are.

By merging baseball-inspired mechanics with Fortnite’s creative digital space, Perfect Game gains access to millions of potential young athletes who might not otherwise engage with traditional tournament or showcase marketing.

In addition, the launch incorporates a direct commercial partnership with equipment manufacturer Soldier Sports, which is showcasing its Double Wall Designer TANK 3 Bat within the map’s environment. This grants the bat manufacturer unique product placement, connecting the physical design of equipment to the digital gaming habits of youth athletes.

As Soldier Sports CEO, Jeff Evans, noted, the digital presence provides a perfect way to connect with the next generation of athletes.

A Vital Move to Boost Fan Engagement

Operating independently of PG’s core tournament business, Perfect Pillars functions strictly as a marketing and brand awareness tool.

This separation means the immediate success metrics will be digital, map visits and player retention, rather than direct tournament registrations.
