The New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL) and the Paris Musketeers of the European League of Football (ELF) have unveiled a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing the cross-continental experience of American football.
This collaboration, designed to unite the fan bases of both teams, will contribute to the growth of the sport in Europe while offering a variety of fan engagement activities.
At the heart of the partnership are several joint initiatives, including co-branded events and community programs.
These will involve fan meet-and-greets, youth football clinics, and cultural exchange events, all celebrating the rich heritage of both organisations.
Commenting on the partnership, Dennis Lauscha, president of the New Orleans Saints, said:
“We are proud to announce our partnership with the Paris Musketeers, a collaboration that reflects our ongoing commitment to growing the game of football globally.”
“This strategic alliance provides a valuable opportunity to expand the reach of the Saints brand, engage with the French audience, and share the rich tradition and passion of our organisation with fans around the world,” Lauscha said.
John McKeon, CEO of the Paris Musketeers, expressed his excitement about the partnership:
“Joining forces with the New Orleans Saints is a significant milestone for our organisation.” Mckeon said.
“We look forward to collaborating on initiatives that will not only enhance the fan experience but also contribute to the development of American football in France and beyond,” he said.
McKeon also revealed that one of their first joint initiatives will be a halftime flag football series with local youth groups during home games this season.
The partnership will also explore shared training programmes, coaching exchanges, and digital content production aimed at engaging fans from both sides of the Atlantic.
The Paris Musketeers’ 2025 season will kick off on May 17th, 2025, at Stade Robert Bobin, where they will face the defending ELF Champion Rhein Fire.
This matchup is particularly notable as it features the new Musketeers’ head coach and former Saints player Jack Del Rio, squaring off against the Fire’s Jim Tomsula.
This event marks the inaugural contest between two former NFL head coaches in the history of the ELF.
This alliance showcases a shared commitment to community involvement and the international growth of American football.
