Netball Australia Appoints Stacey West As New CEO

image

Netball Australia has officially appointed Stacey West, the interim CEO since mid-December 2023, as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Prior to her role as interim CEO, Ms. West served as Netball Australia’s Executive General Manager of Performance, overseeing all aspects of the sport’s talent pathway program and helping to maintain the Origin Australian Diamonds’ position as the top-ranked netball team globally.

Ms. West’s connection to netball extends beyond administration; she has been deeply involved in the sport since her youth, progressing from athlete to elite coach and selector, both domestically and internationally.

Her focus will be on increasing participation rates, enhancing competitions, collaborating with government entities, and strengthening commercial partnerships to ensure the financial sustainability of netball. She has also emphasised her commitment to inclusiveness and support for First Nations communities.

Since Ms West took over in December, Suncorp Super Netball season has seen record-breaking broadcast viewership and attendance, supported by strong commercial partnerships. The board of Netball Australia hopes that a continued collaborative effort with member organisations, clubs, and the Australian Netball Players’ Association will further the development and success of the sport.
