Ministry Of Sport Begins Search For Q1 2022 Journalism Interns

Ministry of Sport (MOS) has begun the recruitment search for the Q1 (Quarter one) journalism intern intake following the success of the program in 2020 and 2021.

The 12-week internship program, since its introduction in 2020, has led to career growth and outcomes for a number of participants, including roles at the AFL, racing.com, online media publications, and public relations agencies.

Speaking on the success of the internship program, MOS editor, Joshua Hodson, said: “The MOS intern program has seen us bring in some incredible talent so far.”

“Being able to work with amazing young journalists and assist in their professional development has been very rewarding and I am very excited to continue doing so in 2022,” Hodson said.

Working from home, the intern will be guided online by the editor and tasked with jumping straight in to creating engaging content for the Ministry of Sport site, including news stories, feature interviews, social media and digital content.

Working within part of a small team, the intern will collaborate on special projects under the guidance of the editor and will get a taste of what it is like to work in a professional newsroom (while working from home), gaining valuable contacts and relationships with members of the sports industry, both in Australia and internationally.
