Melbourne City FC expands partnership with McDonald’s Australia to support grassroots football

High-profile A-League club Melbourne City FC has extended its partnership with McDonald’s Australia, the Australian arm of the global fast-food giant. In this expansion, McDonald’s Australia secures naming rights for the club’s City Clubs program, which will now be known as Macca City Clubs.

The Macca City Clubs program is dedicated to nurturing and promoting grassroots football at the junior level across metropolitan Melbourne and the Victoria region. This extended collaboration aims to foster the long-term development of football, both on and off the field.

The partnership offers various exclusive benefits, including player appearances from both Melbourne City’s men’s and women’s teams, professional development opportunities for coaches, exclusive matchday experiences, special ticket and membership offers and signed merchandise.

This partnership was originally established in 2017, with both Melbourne City FC and McDonald’s Australia sharing the common goal of enhancing football not only in Melbourne but also throughout Australia.

Before this expansion, Melbourne City FC had already secured partnerships with notable brands like Federation University Australia and Workplace Law, further enriching their sponsorship portfolio.

This weekend sees Melbourne City FC men’s side commence their 2023-24 campaign in Australia’s top-flight league with a match against Western United at their home ground, AAMI Park on October 21. Melbourne City’s women’s team currently holds the fourth position on the points table and is set to face Canberra United on October 21.
