The Australian Professional Leagues (APL), the governing body for football in Australia, has officially announced the renewal of their partnership with McDonald’s Australia, the Australian arm of the global fast-food chain.
This renewed partnership solidifies McDonald’s position as the official quick-service restaurant and coffee partner for the E-League, A-League Women and A-League. McDonald’s has been a prominent presence in Australian communities for over half a century.
As part of this two-year extension, McDonald’s will continue to create memorable experiences under the ‘Football. I’m lovin’ it’ brand platform through media and digital placements. They will also retain naming rights for the men’s and women’s Match Centre across desktop, mobile, and the app, as well as introduce LED signage for the A-League Women and the A-League for the first time.
A-Leagues Commissioner Nick Garcia expressed his pride in extending the partnership with an iconic brand like McDonald’s.
“Increasing the support for football, especially women’s football, across the A-Leagues. McDonald’s is a long-standing supporter of the game having partnered with the A-Leagues, with many A-Leagues clubs and at a grassroots level for more than six years,” Garcia said.
“We can’t wait to bring more football to more fans, in partnership with Macca’s, across season 2023-24.”
Amanda Nakad, Marketing Director for McDonald’s Australia, echoed Garcia’s enthusiasm for the partnership.
“Over the past 50 years, McDonald’s has been committed to giving back and supporting the communities we operate in,” she said.
“Australians have a special connection to the A-Leagues and the feel-good moments the sport has given them over the years.
“We are proud to extend our partnership and play our part in helping the A-Leagues continue to have a positive impact on people and communities across Australia, as the Official Quick Service Restaurant and Coffee Partner.”
