The LPGA is currently under the leadership of interim commissioner, Liz Moore, who has embraced the role with pride and purpose since stepping into the position in January, despite facing numerous challenges.
Moore’s tenure also coincides with the LPGA’s 75th anniversary, further fueling her commitment to push the league forward during this pivotal time for women’s sports.
Commenting on her role, Moore shared her excitement for her responsibilities, saying that she is eager to seize every opportunity, regardless of how long her tenure lasts.
“We’ve more than doubled our total media consumption in the last three years,” Moore said.
“We can’t produce enough content. The more content we produce, the more they’re consuming,” she said.
Looking toward the future, the LPGA has set goals to increase purses, attract more sponsors, and elevate the profiles of its star players.
Moore made it clear that the league is learning from past mistakes to avoid setbacks and maintain its forward momentum.
As Moore guides the organisation through this transformative period, she also expressed a desire to remain involved with the LPGA beyond her current role.
Whether through her previous position or another capacity, she is committed to contributing to the league’s growth and ensuring that the LPGA capitalises on the rising energy around women’s sports.
