IOC and TCL Forge Long-Term Global Partnership Through 2032

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has announced a global partnership with TCL, as the Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner in the Home Audiovisual Equipment and Home Appliances category through 2032. The partnership marks a milestone in the IOC’s commercial strategy, ensuring enhanced digital and fan experiences at the Olympic and Paralympic Games while driving long-term revenue redistribution for global sports development.

A Strategic Investment in Sports and Innovation

TCL’s involvement in the Olympic Movement extends beyond sponsorship. The company is set to provide cutting-edge technology solutions that enhance both athlete and fan engagement. From high-definition digital displays at the Olympic and Paralympic Games to smart home appliances in the Olympic Village, TCL’s innovations will integrate seamlessly into the Games’ ecosystem.

Furthermore, TCL will be pivotal in advancing the IOC’s Olympic AI Agenda, using artificial intelligence to enrich the on-site and at-home Olympic experience. This initiative aligns with the broader industry trend of leveraging AI to drive personalised engagement and optimize content distribution across multiple platforms.

A key partnership component is TCL’s support of the “Athlete Moments” initiative, which enables competitors to connect with loved ones immediately after their events. This initiative underscores the increasing importance of digital connectivity in elite sports, reinforcing the IOC’s commitment to human-centred technological advancements.

Revenue Redistribution and Financial Impact

As part of the agreement, the revenue generated from this partnership will be channelled into financial support for the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and their athletes and Organising Committees for the Olympic Games and Youth Olympic Games. This model ensures that the economic benefits of the Olympics extend beyond the host cities, promoting sports development worldwide.

“The IOC is excited to announce its new partnership with TCL, a world leader in the television and household goods industries,” said IOC President Thomas Bach. “TCL has a long history of supporting sport around the world and is now taking its ambition to inspire greatness to new heights, as the Olympic Games are the greatest, most inspirational global sporting stage.”

Expanding the Olympic Commercial Platform

For TCL, this partnership represents a strategic alignment with one of the most globally recognised and influential sports properties. As the company continues its expansion into international markets, the Olympic Association will provide a platform for brand exposure, particularly in key regions such as North America, Europe, and Asia.

“TCL is honoured to become a Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner,” said Li Dongsheng, Founder and Chairman of TCL. “As a leading global technology brand, TCL has always striven to ‘Inspire Greatness,’ which aligns with the Olympic spirit. The Olympic Games inspire billions of people worldwide, and through this partnership, TCL’s diverse innovations will empower the Olympic and Paralympic Games and deliver exceptional experiences to a global audience.”

TCL’s commitment extends beyond product integration, with the company pledging to support the Olympic Movement’s sustainability goals. This includes investments in environmentally friendly display technologies and energy-efficient home appliances, aligning with the broader trend of sustainable business practices within the sports industry.
