The Hawthorn Football Club has achieved a commercial and operational milestone in 2026, surging past 90,000 members for the first time in its storied history.

This membership growth reflects surging fan engagement across the club’s home fixtures at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Marvel Stadium, and UTAS Stadium, alongside strong support on the road outside Victoria.

Reflecting on the significance of the achievement, Hawthorn president, Andy Gower, said: “We are incredibly proud to be surpassing 90,000 members for the first time, this is a significant milestone in Hawthorn’s history.”

“On behalf of the club, I’d like to acknowledge and sincerely thank every single Hawthorn member that has contributed to this achievement, you are an integral part of our football club.

“As we reach a critical juncture of the season, the loyal support from our members will be crucial to our upcoming AFL finals campaign, so too for our historic first season hosting home games at the Kennedy Community Centre for our AFLW Hawks,” Gowers stated.

Building on this foundational support, Hawthorn CEO, Ash Klein, noted that the club’s primary commercial objective remains rooted in fan satisfaction and community alignment.

“Every Hawthorn member continues to play a critical role in our success as a football club; we exist to make them proud.”

“What better occasion to celebrate this amazing milestone than the MCG this Saturday night as we host Collingwood in a massive home game, let’s paint the stands brown and gold and make it an unforgettable evening.

“As a way of giving back to the Hawthorn faithful who have given us so much, there will be several member giveaways during the week to thank our passionate, loyal members, including at Saturday night’s blockbuster match against Collingwood,” Klein noted.

Highlighting this commercial momentum, the club welcomed its third-highest home crowd in history during Round 4, drawing 84,712 members and fans to a dramatic one-point victory over the Geelong Cats on Easter Monday.

The milestone arrives just weeks before the AFL team embarks on its third consecutive finals campaign, while the AFLW department prepares for an inaugural season hosting home matches at the newly established Kennedy Community Centre.
