olf Australia (GA) has announced a new multi-year major partnership with Australian insurance provider, Apia.

As part of the deal Apia is set to become the official partner of GA’s Get Into Golf seniors’ program, as well as an exclusive partner of all GA event volunteers and an official partner of major events across the GA calendar.

Golf Australia CEO, James Sutherland, said GA is excited about the synergies between the two organisations.

“Apia has a goal to help Australians enjoy longer, happier, and healthier lives in retirement and this is something that we hope to directly influence through the health and wellbeing benefits of more people playing more golf,” Sutherland said.

“We look forward to working with Apia with the shared goal of driving golf participation and rewarding golfers across the country,” he said.

Apia CEO of Insurance Products and Portfolio, Lisa Harrison, said: “At Apia, we’re all about the possibilities, and offering our customers access to opportunities and experiences so they can enjoy the good life in retirement.”

“Participating in golf is a great way for older Australians to stay active and connected, so we’re looking forward to working with Golf Australia to deliver a range of activities and events in 2021,” Harrison said.

Through the Golf Australia website and GA’s official handicap system, Apia will see their branding connect with more than 38,000 golfers in Australia each day with this new partnership.
