Gersh Expands into Global Sports Representation with You First Acquisition
Gersh has announced its acquisition of You First, a sports agency based in Spain. This strategic move marks Gersh’s official entry into global sports representation, doubling its workforce to approximately 600 employees and forming its new division, Gersh Sports. The acquisition would provide player agents with enhanced resources and global opportunities through Gersh Sports’ expanded network and infrastructure.
Established in 2002, You First specialises in representing top-tier soccer and basketball talentathletes such as Alexia Putellas, Fabián Ruiz, and Desmond Bane. The agency has also facilitated high-profile marketing deals with brands such as Formula 1, Samsung, and Starbucks.
The acquisition positions Gersh to compete directly with industry leaders like CAA, WME, UTA, and Wasserman. You First’s established presence across 13 countries, and its diverse portfolio of around 1,000 clients, gives Gersh Sports a strong foundation to make an impact in the competitive sports representation market.
This move reflects a broader trend of entertainment agencies expanding their offerings to include sports, leveraging their global infrastructure to support athletes both on and off the field.
