Surf Life Saving Australia’s Coolangatta Gold has announced a new naming rights deal with Shaw and Partners Financial Services.
The three-year deal will see the firm hold the naming rights to the ironman & ironwoman event, which will be known as the Shaw and Partners Financial Services Coolangatta Gold.
Commenting on the announcement, seven-time champion, Ali Day, said: “I think with the naming rights sponsors Shaw and Partners it’s going to make the gold bigger than it has ever been.”
“That means the level of the race is going to go up a notch as well, it is exciting, it is really good for the sport and it is going to be a great day in a couple of months’ time, said Day.
Four-time champions, Courtney Hancock, added: “With Shaw and Partners involved it is going to be an incredible weekend.”
Additionally, the partnership will launch new events, including the Downwind Paddle, which covers 15km across Burleigh and Coolangatta.
Race entries open Wednesday the 17th of August, with the event set to run from 15-16 of October.
