Chelsea, Disney+ To Create New Streaming Experience

Chelsea FC has partnered with Disney+ to introduce an innovative streaming experience for its UEFA Conference League match against Denmark’s Copenhagen, which aims to enhance fan engagement by offering three distinct streams tailored to different audiences.

Supporters in Denmark and Sweden will have the option to select from three unique broadcasts, one of which features former Chelsea wingers Jesper Grønkjær and Bjarne Goldbæk as commentators, with this exclusive stream providing Chelsea fans with an immersive, club-focused experience.

Another stream will cater specifically to Copenhagen supporters, ensuring a dedicated broadcast that aligns with their perspective and for those seeking a more neutral viewpoint, a third stream will offer an impartial commentary option.

Commenting on the partnership, Chelsea chief revenue officer, Casper Stylsvig, said: “Disney+ is known and loved around the world for bringing sport and entertainment into the homes of millions of people.”

“We are delighted to partner with them and offer our fans in Denmark the opportunity to follow our journey in Europe this season, with a well-timed fixture against Copenhagen.

“We are looking forward to working together and finding new ways to offer value and increased connection for our supporters,” Stylsvig said.

This strategic initiative aligns with Disney+’s recent expansion into the Nordic region, with its launch in Denmark and Sweden last month.

The streaming platform also became available for the first time in Norway, Portugal, Belgium, Finland, Iceland, and Luxembourg, marking a significant milestone in its global growth.

Chelsea’s collaboration with Disney+ highlights the club’s ongoing efforts to enhance its global presence and deliver unique viewing experiences to its supporters.

This move follows Chelsea’s recent partnership with Roobet, announced in January, which saw the club appoint the brand as its official regional betting partner for Latin America and Canada.
