Commonwealth Games Australia (CGA) and AAMI have premiered The Pursuit of Unstoppable, a six-part documentary series marking the 100-days-to-go countdown to the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.

The series, available on 7Plus and YouTube, provides a fly-on-the-wall perspective of the athletes and high-performance systems operating under CGA’s Green2Gold2Great (G2G2G) investment framework.

The production features dedicated episodes for Athletics, Basketball 3×3, Cycling, Netball, Para Swimming, and Triathlon, focusing on the strategic and technical innovations required to maintain Australia’s position as a global leader in Commonwealth sport.

Innovation and High-Performance Insights

The series launch coincides with the release of the first episode, focused on Cycling, which highlights the role of aerodynamics and equipment efficiency in the team’s pursuit of the podium.

AusCycling executive general manager of high performance, Jesse Korf, noted that CGA’s funding is directly unlocking performance improvements that would otherwise be out of reach.

“By optimising aerodynamics and equipment efficiency, we can gain a lot of speed.”

“CGA has been great in providing funding and developing a plan together, which is driving the innovation around cycling,” Korf said.

Two-time bronze medallist, Conor Leahy, added that the tech upgrades are a major morale booster for the squad, likening the arrival of new equipment to “Christmas” for the athletes.

The G2G2G Investment Strategy

The documentary serves as a commercial showcase for the $13 million Green2Gold2Great program, which underpins the national campaign.

  • Funding Milestone: CGA has committed $11.4 million this quadrennium and more than $67 million since 1996.
  • Content Focus: Beyond training, the series explores sports psychology, Para-sport classification, data insights, and the pressures of life on the road.
  • Strategic Partnership: The series is enabled by AAMI, an Official Partner of the Australian Commonwealth Games Team, as part of their broader contribution to the high-performance landscape.

The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games will be held from 23 July to 2 August 2026, with subsequent episodes of the series set for a rolling release in the lead-up to the opening ceremony.
