The British Basketball League (BBL) has notched up another victory in its quest for global visibility, securing a streaming partnership with the YES regional sports network (RSN). The deal, effective immediately, brings BBL action to the homes of fans in the YES network’s regional footprint, covering New York state, Connecticut, northern and central New Jersey, and north-eastern Pennsylvania.

Under the terms of the agreement, the YES App will feature two live BBL games every week, airing each Thursday and Friday. Subscribers within the YES network’s regional reach can enjoy these live broadcasts, while select game replays will be available on the YES Network’s linear channel during primetime on Thursdays or Fridays.

The YES Network, co-owned by Major League Baseball’s (MLB) New York Yankees, stands as the most-watched RSN in the United States for 18 of the past 20 years. This partnership marks a significant stride for the BBL in the US market, following a recent broadcast deal with NBC Sports’ RSNs covering the Bay Area, California, Chicago, and Philadelphia.

The BBL’s new magazine show, ‘Unbeatable,’ will also find a home on the YES Network and YES App, enhancing the league’s presence and offering a deeper dive into the world of British basketball.

The live coverage kicked off with the Leicester Riders versus London Lions matchup on December 1st, setting the stage for an exciting collaboration that aims to captivate audiences and foster a new wave of overseas fans.

BBL chief executive Aaron Radin expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, recognising it as a major milestone for the league’s growth and ambitions. He stated, “We’re very excited about our partnership with the YES Network, the most-watched regional sports network in the US, to bring our league into the homes of the New York tri-state area,”

“This announcement marks a major milestone for our league, signifying our continuing growth and ambitions.”

Radin continued, “We are committed to delivering high-quality sports entertainment to the YES Network’s viewers to build an audience with new overseas fans.”

Basketball enthusiasts can mark their calendars for the next streaming event on the YES App, featuring the Manchester Giants versus the Surrey Scorchers on December 7th, promising an immersive and thrilling experience for fans on both sides of the Atlantic.
