The Brisbane Bullets are set to make a highly anticipated return to the Brisbane Entertainment Centre for the 2024/25 NBL season. This homecoming will be marked by a thrilling home opener against the Sydney Kings on Saturday, 5 October.
In an unprecedented move for the league, the Hungry Jack’s NBL season will kick off in Perth with “HoopsFest,” where all ten teams will play their season openers. The Bullets will face the New Zealand Breakers on 21 September at HBF Stadium during this exciting opening round.
All season games will be broadcast on ESPN, with a special Sunday 2:30 PM game also available in high definition on Channel 10’s main channel.
“Excitement is building for next season, and we are thrilled to announce a schedule that’ll see the campaign begin with a bang in Perth,” stated NBL CEO David Stevenson. “There’s real anticipation for us to be back playing, and having the combination of the biggest weekend in Australian basketball history with HoopsFest, alongside a Round 2 schedule that’s jam-packed with great matchups, ensures we will return in the biggest way possible.”
Stevenson highlighted the fan-centric approach of the NBL, noting the significant milestone of welcoming over a million fans through the gates for the first time since 1996. The new schedule is designed to include family-friendly timeslots, especially during the summer holidays.
“The NBL’s broadcast product will also be enhanced with the addition of the marquee 2:30 PM Sunday timeslot, with those games to be broadcast in HD on Channel 10 – the first time the League will be on a main free-to-air channel in a decade,” he added.
He expressed gratitude towards the clubs, broadcasters, and venues for their cooperation in creating a schedule that promises memorable moments when the season begins.
The upcoming season will also feature Indigenous Round, Champion Pride Round, and Heritage Round, with further details to be announced soon.
