The BNZ Breakers have announced an exciting strategic partnership with Everest Infrastructure Partners, a global leader in telecommunication infrastructure. Everest, known for its impressive portfolio of over one billion dollars in assets across 2,500 tower sites in four countries, is one of the largest and fastest-growing cell tower operators in the world.

As part of this partnership, Everest’s logo will proudly be displayed on the back of the Breakers’ jerseys during the upcoming NBL24 campaign, solidifying their role as a key sponsor for the new season. Marcus Gyles, the New Zealand Director at Everest, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating that the Breakers embody the core values of honesty, transparency, and trust that Everest stands for.

In New Zealand, Everest works closely with property owners to acquire cell tower ground leases, rooftop antenna leases, and other telecommunication infrastructure. Through this partnership, Everest provides crucial telecommunication solutions to leading wireless companies such as 2Degrees, Spark, One New Zealand, Connexa, and Aotearoa Tower Group. With the rapid evolution of New Zealand’s telecommunication landscape, including the deployment of 5G broadband networks, Everest’s sponsorship with the Breakers demonstrates their long-term commitment to investing in the critical infrastructure that supports wireless networks in the country.

With recent accomplishments in the league, including a second-place finish last season, the club is experiencing a period of strong growth. Additionally, the Breakers will play NBA games against the Portland Trailblazers and Utah Jazz in the United States next month, bringing even more excitement to the team and its fans.

The BNZ Breakers have a rich history in the Australian National Basketball League (NBL), having won four championships. Their most recent appearance in the Championship Series, held in March of this year, was widely regarded as the greatest series ever played in the 44-year history of the competition, with record-breaking attendance and TV viewership.

The upcoming NBL season for the BNZ Breakers will kick off on September 30 at Spark Arena in Auckland, with a game against the Cairns Taipans. This game will also serve as a celebration of captain Tom Abercrombie’s remarkable career, as he reaches a milestone of 400 games for the club. Abercrombie has been an integral part of all four championship-winning teams and continues to be a driving force behind the Breakers’ success.
