Bankwest Stadium has announced Ronald McDonald House Charities Greater Western Sydney as its official Major Charity Partner for 2019.

Bankwest Stadium CEO, Daryl Kerry, said the partnership will be beneficial for the local community, families and children in need.

“Bankwest Stadium is committed to supporting the health and wellbeing of all Australians, and as a thriving hub of community activity, Bankwest Stadium understands and embraces the opportunity it has to make a positive difference in the local community and in the lives of children who need it most,” he said.

“We recognise that sport can help to build communities through social inclusion and a sense of connection.

“It also binds families through shared experiences and achievements, where being a member of a fan club becomes a common point of connection.

“We’re proud to partner with Ronald McDonald House Westmead – who is just a 10-minute walk from our front gates, share our passion for promoting the health of young Australians, and partner with two of our home clubs, the Parramatta Eels and Western Sydney Wanderers,” Mr Kerry said.

Ronald McDonald House Charities Greater Western Sydney CEO, Belinda Woolford, said the partnership is exciting for the precinct and the families staying at Ronald McDonald House Westmead.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be named as Major Charity Partner of Bankwest Stadium.

“As a local charity we can see the impact the stadium is going to have on Western Sydney, it will be a game changer for sport and entertainment in our region.

“Further to this, we know the families staying at the house will benefit from the opportunity to have a family day out at one of the many premium events scheduled at the Stadium, giving them much-needed respite and family time during their difficult journey,” she said.

Bankwest Stadium welcomed a sell out crowd for its first official match on April 22nd, hosting the round six NRL clash between Parramatta Eels and West Tigers.
