usCycling has announced four new partnerships over the last month, as the recently merged governing body continues its growth.

AusCycling has announced a new partnership with UK based tech company app, Busby, with hopes to make cycling safer.

Busby detects when you have a crash and automatically alerts your emergency contacts providing cyclists with medical assistance if required.

AusCycling will receive monthly reports of high incident areas around the country, which will be shared with the riding community throughout the year.

Additional features of the Busby app include Flare, which signals other riders when you are stranded or need assistance with tire punctures and mechanical problems.

Busby co-founder and operations director, James Duffy, said: “For many years in Australia, bikes have significantly outsold cars.”

“That’s a powerful indication that the nation is choosing active transport wherever possible and a nod to the great work being done at AusCycling.

“We’re incredibly pleased to have the opportunity to play a part in that journey, partnering with Australia’s national cycling body and endeavouring to make the country’s cyclists safer than ever before using technology.

AusCycling commercial, clubs and community executive general manager, Agostino Giramondo, added: “The AusCycling and Busby partnership is a great opportunity for us to continue promoting safety and awareness when people are riding bikes.”

“Safety is extremely important to us, and the advances in technology are now providing ways for companies like Busby to enhance the overall cycling experience for Australians,” he said.

Elsewhere, AusCycling has also announced a new long-term partnership with Alpinestars, who will directly support events, clubs, and members across Australia.

BikeSportz.com.au will be the official distributor of Alpinestar cycling products across Australia.

AusCycling members will also have access to exclusive discounts and Alpinestar products offered via the member’s newsletters and a new member benefits program to be released in the coming weeks.

BikeSportz general manager, Shannon Cramer, said they are excited to partner with AusCycling to support events across the Australian cycling communities.

“We are delighted to be partnering with AusCycling to support events, mountain bikers and the broader Australian cycling community,” Cramer said.

“As a premium mountain bike brand, Alpinestars cycling gear offers the perfect blend of style, all-weather comfort, and an unrivalled level of protection,” he said.

Speaking on the Alpinestars partnership, Giramondo said the discipline-specific partnership is essential to help support local retailers and club members.

“It’s really important for us to have partnerships that are discipline-specific, and it is pleasing to add another company to our growing stable of partners that directly support local retailers, event organisers, clubs and members,” Giramondo said.

“Our partnership with Alpinestars will give members access to cycling gear that is designed to perform on epic mountain adventures as well as local bike trails,” he said.

A new long-term partnership with BBB Cycling has also been announced to directly support local bike retailers, clubs and members across Australia.

With over twenty-two years in the market, creating a wide range of high-quality apparel, tools, parts and accessories, BBB Cycling is now showing its support and distributing to the Australian market.

BBB Cycling Australia will also offer sponsorship opportunities for cycling events across the country by contributing to prize pools with digital vouchers.

BikeSportz will also be the official distributor of BBB products in Australia.

On the BBB Cycling partnership, Giramondo said: “It’s fantastic to be able to provide more value for local retailers, and this partnership will also assist event organisers across the country.”

“The brand boasts an impressive catalogue of products, and we’re grateful for their contribution to our sport at the grassroots.

“Utilising digital vouchers is a great initiative and will integrate well with the soon to be released AusCycling member benefits program,” he said.

AusCycling has also announced a 12-month partnership with Quest Apartments, a long-term supporter of cycling in Victoria, as they become AusCyling providers of choice for accommodation in Melbourne, ensuring AusCycling members, executives, and administers across the nation access to exclusive offers and bike-friendly facilities.

“This is an exciting opportunity for AusCycling to continue building relationships with strong advocates for the sport of cycling while providing great benefits to our members,” Giramondo said.

Quest franchisee, Bianca Tachdjian, said: “Quest Ivanhoe is proud to be partnering with AusCycling, and we are truly grateful for the opportunity.”

“We are pleased to continue our sponsorship of the sport in Melbourne, having previously partnered with Cycling Victoria, and we are excited for what this future partnership will bring,” she said.
