Athletics Australia and Coles Little Athletics Australia have both recommitted to their desire for the delivery of Athletics as a united sport.

Both Boards have committed to working together for the betterment of the long-term future of the sport and to removing the barriers to growing and retaining participation across all ages.

Coles Little Athletics Australia CEO, Martin Stillman said: “It’s tremendous that Coles Little Athletics Australia and Athletics Australia have signed off on the principles for ‘One Sport’ with both organisations being committed to the delivery of athletics as a united sport across the country.”

“With both LAA and AA working together eliminating barriers to athlete participation and retention, the long-term future of athletics in Australia is extremely healthy.”

In making this commitment, the Boards have agreed to establish a formal working group to identify and agree on:

1. a set of principles to guide the purpose and process; and

2. short- and medium-term initiatives required to activate the Principles

“Together with LAA, we will redevelop a joint vision and alignment of strategic planning to drive the sport of Athletics forward,” Athletics Australia CEO, Darren Gocher said.

“We are really looking forward to unifying and working collaboratively and our Member Associations and Partners to grow the sport together.”
