Global sporting goods company, ASICS Corporation, has been announced as a component company of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for the eighth straight year.
The DJSI are a series of globally recognised socially responsible investment (SRI) indices, which are jointly determined by the S&P Dow Jones Indices in the US and ESG assessment company, SAM, in Switzerland.
Additionally, the DJSI evaluates the sustainability of a company through three criteria – economic, environmental and sustainability – where firms who are seen as industry leaders are able to become component companies.
ASICS was ranked in the top 5%, which is the 95th percentile, and is one of the 156 APAC companies selected this year out of the 600 that are covered.
ASICS has also been selected as a component company for another SRI index, the FTSE4Good Index Series, which was created by FTSE Russell who are based in the UK.
In a statement, ASICS said they will continue to strive to fulfil their vision to create a quality of lifestyle through intelligent sport technology, while also working with business partners that share their commitment to a sustainable and fair sports industry.
The announcement comes after ASICS renewed their partnership with the Australian Olympic Committee until 2026.
