The Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) has announced the continuation of their partnership with News Corp Australia for the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics and 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics.
The deal will see the introduction of new initiatives to support the growth of participation in Olympic sports, and will also support the 2023 Pacific Games, and the Youth Olympic Games in 2024 and 2026.
Commenting on the partnership, AOC CEO, Matt Carroll, said: “This partnership will not only assist in getting Australian Teams to these Games, but also through News Corp channels we can tell the stories of our athletes as they strive to proudly represent their country.”
“Olympians come from communities right across Australia. From the biggest cities to the smallest towns.
“With News Corp as an official Team Partner and official Newspaper of the Australian Olympic Team, we are looking at some real innovations over the next four years.
“Local communities proudly support these athletes and with News’ support, we can tell these wonderful stories far and wide.
“Collaborative campaigns to encourage and inspire new talent, some exciting digital initiatives in conjunction with our families of Partners and linkages with our broader Partner family creating content and driving interest in our 46 member sports to grow participation in sport across Australia,” he said.
News Corp Australiasia executive chairman, Michael Miller, added: “This renewed partnership builds on News Corp Australia’s proud support of the Australian Olympic movement, and we look forward to sharing the inspiring and moving stories that the Games inevitably produce – stories that connect with our audience, motivate future athletes, and unite us as a country,” he said.
The news comes after the AOC announced GoDaddy as their official website building partner.
