Tennis Australia has announced the final intake for AO StartUps 2024, inviting global sport technology startups to pilot their innovations during the Summer of Tennis. Since its inception in 2022, the program has engaged over 20 pioneering companies, enhancing both player and fan experiences.

Dr Machar Reid, Tennis Australia’s Director of Innovation, highlighted the program’s aim to disrupt the status quo. “We are on the hunt for innovative founders that align with our strategy to harness new technology,” he stated. Previous participants have consistently exceeded performance expectations, leading to ongoing partnerships with Tennis Australia.

Notable companies that have participated include BatFast, 1080 Motion, CAMB.AI, and MATCHi. These startups have validated their business models in real-time at one of the largest sports and entertainment events globally.

AO StartUps is a key element of Tennis Australia’s innovation agenda, supported by its Wildcard Ventures fund and a partnership with Techstars. This framework aims to streamline processes that can hinder innovation and create investment opportunities for startups.

Early-stage tech companies have until 8 November 2024, to apply. Interested applicants can find more information at aostartups.ausopen.com.
