Sky Media has officially launched the Sports Marketplace, an innovative live sports advertising platform designed to grant advertisers access to the live sports inventory of Sky Sports and TNT Sports.
The platform aims to streamline the advertisement application process for advertisers looking to promote their brands on these well-known platforms.
Originally unveiled during Sky Media’s ‘Connects’ event in November, the Sports Marketplace allows advertisers to book campaigns for specific games, such as Premier League matches scheduled on Saturday afternoons for TNT Sports, or Sunday fixture broadcasts on Sky Sports.
A key feature of the marketplace is its flexibility, offering both event-based buys and impression-based packs, which facilitates a closer connection between advertisers and sports fans, enabling tailored content delivery that aligns with their respective budgets.
With the launch now complete, advertisers can explore three distinct purchasing options: event lockout, event access, and multi-event packs.
The event lockout option allows advertisers with substantial budgets to secure exclusive cross-platform advertising rights for pivotal sporting events, ensuring that they can reach both live broadcast and streaming audiences.
The event access alternative provides premium access to specific events solely for streaming audiences, initially concentrating on domestic and European football, with plans for future expansion to encompass the entire sports portfolio available through Sky Sports and TNT Sports.
Finally, the multi-event packs are curated advertising solutions designed to cater to the increasing demand from streaming audiences, offering pricing flexibility suitable for various budget sizes, an essential feature for platforms experiencing surging popularity.
Commenting on the platform, managing director of sky media, Brett Aumuller, said: “At Sky Media, we connect millions of sports fans daily through a wealth of sports content.”
“Across Sky Sports and TNT Sports, we aim to make advertising in standout, talked-about content as simple and accessible as possible – that’s why we’re launching the Sports Marketplace,” he said.
The newly designed online portal prioritises user-friendliness and accessibility, providing a straightforward approach for advertisers to promote sporting moments on Sky Sports and TNT Sports, covering both broadcast and streaming platforms.
