Adelaide 36ers Launch Teacher Ambassador Program

The Adelaide 36ers have launched a new Teacher Ambassador Program, using World Teachers’ Day as the platform to recognise and reward educators who play a critical role in the club’s community outreach.

The program is open to primary and secondary school teachers who support Shooting Hoops, the club’s not-for-profit community arm focused on using basketball to inspire confidence, leadership, resilience and positive social development among young people.

Adelaide 36ers general manager of Social Impact and Community, Ross Wait, said teachers are essential partners in delivering the club’s education and wellbeing programs across South Australia.

“Teachers inspire, support, and empower children and young people every day, and they play such an important role in the programs we run through Shooting Hoops.”

“We can’t run our programs and make the impact we do without their support, so this is our way of giving back,” Wait said.

The Teacher Ambassador Program aims to engage educators who are passionate about promoting the club’s community values and introducing basketball-led learning opportunities to their school communities.

Teachers who register for free will help promote Adelaide 36ers community programs within their school and local networks, and in return receive a range of benefits. These include an ambassador merchandise pack, discounts at the 36ers team shop, invitations to professional development events, priority access to school activations and opportunities to win double passes to Adelaide 36ers home games.

The club says the program is aimed to increase a stronger connection between the 36ers and schools while empowering teachers to support student wellbeing and engagement through sport.
