Adelaide 36ers CEO Resigns, Interim CEO Named

The Adelaide 36ers have announced CEO, Ben Kavenagh, has resigned after three years in the role, with the club’s chief financial officer, Adam May, set to step in as interim CEO.

Announcing the departure of Kavenagh and the appointment of May, Adelaide 36ers chairman, Grant Kelley, said: “Ben was instrumental in the 36ers’ successful move to the Adelaide Entertainment Centre in 2019, and in 2020 steered the club through the depth of the Coronavirus pandemic.”

“As a passionate 36ers’ fan, Ben will still be in attendance at home games for the remainder of the season.

“Adam May has been with the club for almost three years, during which he has delivered very strong financial and commercial results and been a key member of our management team.

“He has also shown great leadership through these unprecedented times.

“We welcome Adam into his new role as interim CEO,” Kelley said.

The club revealed May will continue his current role of chief financial officer while the search begins for a permanent CEO.

The club did not reveal if May would be a potential candidate for the permanent position.
