Fox Sports Australia will conclude its five-year domestic broadcast and streaming rights partnership with Netball Australia following the final match of the 2026 Constellation Cup on Wednesday, 28 October 2026.

The conclusion marks the end of a multi-platform distribution arrangement spanning Foxtel linear subscription services, Kayo Sports, and Binge.

General Manager of Fox Sports, Erin Ferreira, highlighted the legacy of Fox Sports and how it established women’s sports broadcasting.

“We are incredibly proud of what our team has achieved for netball and its fans.”

“Together with Netball Australia, the clubs, players and our production partners, we helped bring the sport to more Australians, in more ways, than ever before.

“From every Super Netball match live and ad-break free, to new formats, deeper player storytelling and world-class production innovation, this team has left a lasting legacy for the sport and women’s broadcasting,” Ferreira said.

Netball Australia chair, Liz Ellis AO, expressed gratitude for Fox Sports’ commercial investment and operational commitment.

“Wednesday night will mark the end of an incredibly important chapter for Netball Australia, as we conclude our time with Fox Sports Australia.”

“For the past five years, Fox Sports has been a tremendous supporter of netball, and importantly, a partner that believed in the sport and its potential.

“Their commitment to showcasing our athletes, our teams and our game has played a significant role in getting netball to where it is today,” Ellis said.

The broadcast partnership generated record-breaking viewership metrics across domestic and international assets:

  • 2026 Suncorp Super Netball Season: Ranked as the most-streamed season in league history across Foxtel, Kayo Sports, and Binge, and the second-highest performing overall across combined linear and streaming platforms.
  • 2025 Constellation Cup: Recorded highest-ever linear and streaming viewership for the international series, with Games One and Two establishing all-time series attendance and audience records.
  • Global Reach: Super Netball matches were broadcast to more than 120 countries, supported by international distribution platforms.

Technical and Production Innovations

Fox Netball delivered several broadcasting benchmarks for Australian women’s sport:

  • Production Milestones: Established the largest female talent roster for a single Australian sports broadcast and introduced the nation’s first all-female control room production crew in 2022.
  • Innovations: Integrated in-game team meeting room access, live post-match press conferences, net microphones, bench cameras, headset commentary interviews, and changeroom crosses.
  • Media Ecosystem: Expanded ancillary content via studio programs including Pivot, Centre Circle, Off the Court, and The 4th Quarter podcast.

Transition to 2027 Broadcast Architecture

Following the conclusion of Fox Sports’ tenure, Netball Australia will transition to its new five-year broadcast rights agreement with Nine Entertainment from 1 January 2027 through 2031.

Under the incoming deal, Nine will broadcast Suncorp Super Netball, all Australian Diamonds international Test matches, and the Netball World Cup Sydney 2027 across free-to-air linear channels (Channel 9), 9Now streaming, and Stan Sport.
