Bundesliga powerhouse Borussia Dortmund (BVB) has entered into a five-season commercial partnership with Panasonic Heating & Cooling Solutions Europe, extending through 2031.

The deal establishes Panasonic as an Official Partner of the club, pairing traditional marketing and venue inventory with operational integration designed to accelerate BVB’s facility modernization and decarbonization targets.

Under the framework of the agreement, Panasonic will deploy its building technology expertise across selected Borussia Dortmund properties.

Initial pilot projects will focus on testing high-efficiency heat pumps, commercial air conditioning systems, and industrial cooling solutions across club infrastructure, evaluating performance and energy reduction over a multi-year assessment period.

Commenting on the partnership, regional director for DACH, UK, and Ireland at Panasonic Heating & Cooling Solutions, José Manuel Alves, said: “With our technologies, we aim to help make the club’s infrastructure more sustainable and support its decarbonisation targets,” Alves said.

director and authorised signatory for internationalization & commercial partnerships at Borussia Dortmund, Benedikt Scholz, emphasised the shift toward operational commercial integration.

“In Panasonic, we have found a partner who shares our ambitions and supports us on this journey with innovative technologies,” Scholz said.
